LogCon: Haha haha... "idea" / "teaching" ?
Yay!!! I can't remember any more!!
i attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.
i was already divided in my heart to say the least.
one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.

"How does it feel to be the only people on the planet who can never be wrong?"
"And don't we love this new teaching!"
Ummmm.... if you haven't started clapping, now is the time....
someting happened yesterday that i thought might be noteworty enough to relate to you here.. mrs. eyz and i were invited to my new boss's home for his annual end of summer party.
it's a pretty big deal....his is a name known locally (i'll call him j.r.) a really nice interesting guy who's held a number of high level and politically connected jobs.
there was to be music, dancing, wine and reprotedly lots of well dressed, well educated, well to do and influential people (oh yes...and us) in attendance.. anyway we thought we'd make an occasion out of it and got ourselves spiffed up which involved new outfits and extra mirror time before we left home.
I have been going thru this same subject in my mind every day...
"What will I say?" "What should I say?"
I like your idea, and the fact that you rehearsed it so that it would be seamless. When I am caught off guard, I tend to get a bit dramatic...
I want to be logical, in control, happy, decisive. I want to walk away and feel as if I did the best thing possible, I want to prick their conscience if they have any soul or humanity left.
Thx for your post, it really does do a lot of good to help others to "explore new ideas, to go above and beyond"
cha ching!
i read through the suggestion box and haven't seen anyone recomend this yet: is it possilbe to add a "like" button for posts and comments?
maybe something that keeps count of them like on youtube.
i think it would be a great tool to let people know we appreciate their comments.. i know we have the thumbs up icon we can paste in our comments but its hard to "like" someones elses comment when the thread is already 30 comments deep.. (feel free to thumbs up if this is a feature you'd like to see).
found this video of the entertainment preperation for the delegates in atlanta, u.s. this seems to be professionally done maybe outside sources or probably done by "professional" jw's.
this is just like christendom or all the other religious organizations that they deem to be from the devil.
the people seem to be very sincere in there efforts & is much appreciated,.
They are re-inventing themselves...
They need positive emotions to replace and disguise the disappointment of 100 years of Jesus doing nothing.
we were supposed to treat them as dead!
did you follow this direction?
.
Of course, I lived during the days it was OK to say "HI"... things have changed, and I am now faded...
But, even in these last 10 years, I would say "hi' maybe "how you doing?" (great thing to say, huh?) and smile, be nice...
I thought being mean or cold was the worst thing to do... How could that help someone "see the love" and make them "want" to come back?
If someone had asked me for help, I would have helped them... asked me a question, I would have answered... I would have been a human being... I didn't come across too many DF'd people.
In fact, there was this woman who had 'faded' out of the fold, and had started celebrating Xmas.. She 'should have' been DF'd, as most people would, but then again, she wasn't testifying in a trial (haha) and didn't NEED 2 be. I saw her in line in a grocery store, came up to her, said "Hi, How you doing? so nice to see you!" asked about life, and gave her a hug.
Things are very arbitrary these days. A husband is DF'd cuz he use to be an elder, wife isn't... Someone writes a letter to DA himself, and it isn't "announced" cuz their family is a prominent family in the area. Another person finds out lies the WT has been telling, but they aren't DF'd, cuz the elders can tell they "have a good heart." Ray Franz's wife was never DF'd but could have been for the very same reason that HE was: eating with a DA'd person.
Maybe that is why I am gone, I do not like what the WT is, or makes people become.
as a jehovah's witness:.
two things finally struck me:.
for now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now i know in part, but then i will know fully just as i also have been fully known.. _______________________.
Perfect illustration Onager:
I have been looking for an illustration like that....
this is a true experience that i thought i would share, one that occurred just a few years ago in my area.
it is a real experience, nothing made up here.. a younger couple moved into our kh, into the joining congregation (so not ours, but the other one that shared our kh).
they seemed nice enough, they had one boy that was about 8, and a baby on the way.
I like that MauiBoy: “If someone knows what is right to do, and doesn’t do it… it is a sin”
The GB use the same “get out of jail free card” that their Father & “Mother” use. Are they above the law?
(Leviticus 5:1) . . .“‘Now in case a soul sins in that he has heard public cursing and he is a witness or he has seen it or has come to know of it, if he does not report it, then he must answer for his error.

Really, to report wrongdoing is an act of Christian principled love shown toward God, toward the congregation, and toward the wrongdoer.
Is that really what happens to the ones who report pedophilia? What about those who testify in their defense? What do you read in the WT, vs. what really happens?
*** w97 8/15p.29 WhyReportWhatIsBad?***
Today, the vast majority of brothers and sisters in congregations throughout the earth work hard to preserve the spiritual cleanness of the congregation by individually maintaining an approved standing before God. Some suffer to do so; others have even died in order to keep integrity.
Surely to condone or cover up wrongdoing would show a lack of appreciation for these efforts.
*** w97 8/15p.28WhyReportWhatIsBad?***
In his first letter, Paul wrote: “Actually fornication is reported among you, and such fornication as is not even among the nations, … (that a wife a certain man has of his father—1 Corinthians 5:1..)”
What about pedophilia? Should it not be reported? Is this worse than the nations? How many witnesses think "It is only in my congregation." or "Jehovah will take care of things?" As has been brilliantly noted: Jehovah can take care of the preaching work, but not the children?
More importantly, what about the "Christian" lawyers who defend the pedophiles in trial? The lawyers who make the victims feel as if they are the bad people?
*** w85 11/15p.20par.14DoNotShareintheSinsofOthers***
The psalmist David said: “I have not sat with men of untruth ; and with those who hide what they are I do not come in .” (Psalm 26:4) Surely, then, we would not want to become accomplices of “those who hide what they are.”
Have you ever listened to the “GB sanctioned lawyers” in a trial?
Have you ever been disfellowshipped for testifying in a trial?
If you were a victim, how would you be treated after the trial?

Will you become an accomplice?
